DON'T BUY MICROWAVE POPCORN

Reason 1 - workers in the factories, particularly those who mix the popcorn with the "flavoring", have an alarmingly high rate of very serious lung disease. In animal studies, the "flavoring" particles airborne were extremely potent at causing this type of disease... some of these people are young (in their 20s) and many of them have never smoked... These substances are not regulated in this manner yet - though the process has begun - so consumer demand is still a great risk for these workers.

Reason 2 - if worker health isn't enough, keep in mind that small amounts of these same particles are released into the air when you microwave the popcorn. So it's going into your lungs, too.

I prefer to avoid mysterious chemical "flavorings" in general.
