big, dangerous toys and annoyances

They are ripping up the street all around where we live. I have no idea why; it seems to serve no apparent purpose.

Today driving to work I saw the face of one of the men operating the big, huge tear-up-the-street machine. He had this look on his face that seemed to say: "wheeee! I get to rip up the street! Rip! Dig! Destroy!!!!"

Oh well.
